Whilst the world continues to the battles to control the Covid pandemic, and considering the new Omicron Variant, Yeovil Rugby Club’s priority remains the health and safety of our members, players, staff, and visitors. As a club we ensure that what we do is in line with current Government and RFU guidelines and more often than not go that extra mile to ensure a safe and healthy environment. Our Club steward (Ali Cox) has recently updated our COVID risk assessment and has been providing Lateral Flow test kits for our staff to regularly test, we have also allocated more hours to our cleaner who routinely deep cleans our facilities. When visiting the club wrap up warm because we will leave doors open to aid with ventilation.
Please follow a protocol of Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) prior to training and matches and attending the club. One in three people don’t show symptoms. Anyone who wishes to wear a face-covering is as ever free to do so.
Hand sanitiser will be available at the main entrance and in clearly signposted locations across club facilities, and we would urge all at the ground to apply it regularly. We have also continued to supply the red buckets for sanitising balls and equipment. As part of our endeavour to keep our members and players as safe as possible we have introduced the use of the proactive reporting app for all our teams. The app helps to manage the spread of covid by providing coaches with an up-to-date status on individual players within every team enabling coaches to make clearer decisions regarding training.
Along with social distancing and other safety guidelines, vaccinated members are crucial in helping prevent the spread of the virus. Vaccinated people are less likely to get COVID-19 with symptoms and are less likely to get serious COVID-19. We want to strongly recommend as many players and staff as possible to be vaccinated.
