LOTTERY APPEAL

Following the merger of the two town clubs back in 1995 one of the objectives was to create a new playing and social facility.

Following extremely hard and passionate work by a committed team we now enjoy what you see today at the showground.

However , whilst we own the building the grounds are rented from the Yeovil Showground Organisation subject to a long term lease incorporating a monthly payment.

To pay for the ground lease a club lottery was introduced in order to cover the total monthly lease cost whilst providing a monthly prize for participants.

Initially the income covered the costs but sadly, over the years, participation has declined whilst the rental costs have increased.

Currently the nett proceeds of the Lottery covers approx 20% of our leasehold fees.

Whilst it is understood that extra financial commitment is difficult for some during these times may I appeal to you all reading this to promote the club lottery by joining individually and encouraging family and friends to join also.

The Lottery is legally registered under the gaming act registration number 51954 and audited monthly by official returns to the Somerset County Council to whom we pay an annual fee for registration. This information will demonstrate that the Club Lottery is legitimate for the aforesaid purposes.

Each entry will only cost you £1 per week (or £4.33 monthly) by standing order.

A separate Bank Account was set up back in 1996 for managing the lottery and is still in use for that purpose today.

If you , friends or family can support the lottery then details of the account for setting up your standing order can be given by applying to nonplayers.yeovilrugbyclub@gmail.com .

As the registered promoter this will be received by myself and replied to in order that you can then set up your membership.

Each month I receive the statement from our Club Treasurer which is then audited prior to the draw taking place.

Currently there is one prize of £100 paid to the winner but it is hoped that with the increase in participants then prizes can be increased.
