Sunday 1 November 2026 | Both matches kick off at 2pm
It's double the rugby, double the determination and double the opportunity to get behind Yeovil Rugby Club this Sunday, as both of our senior women's teams return to league action.
Our Women's 1st XV head to Weston-super-Mare for a challenging away fixture against Hornets Ladies, while the Women's Barbarians welcome Oakmeadians Ladies to Church Lane.
With both opponents enjoying unbeaten starts to their respective league campaigns, there is plenty at stake for our Yeovil sides.
WOMEN'S 1ST XV | A BIG TEST AGAINST HORNETS
Hornets Ladies v Yeovil Women's 1st XV

Sunday 1 November

Kick-off: 2pm
-
Away – Hornets RFC, Weston-super-Mare

League: Women's NC 1 South West (West)
Yeovil Women's 1st XV compete in Women's NC 1 South West (West), the fourth tier of the English women's rugby league structure.
After finishing second in the division last season, Yeovil entered the 2026/27 campaign looking to build on that achievement and continue challenging some of the strongest sides in the region.
The season began with a hard-fought 27–20 away victory over Crediton, before a disappointing 29–14 home defeat against Penryn.
However, the response against Trojans Ladies II on 18 October was emphatic.
Yeovil produced an outstanding attacking display to secure a 41–12 away victory, crossing the try line seven times and collecting the maximum five league points.
That result demonstrated the quality within the squad and provided a welcome confidence boost heading into November.
THE OPPOSITION – HORNETS LADIES
Hornets have made a formidable start to their league campaign, winning all three of their opening fixtures.
Their results include:
-
Hornets 41–5 Ellingham & Ringwood
-
Paignton 7–42 Hornets
-
Winscombe 21–85 Hornets
With 168 points scored across those three matches, Hornets have established themselves as a serious attacking threat.
For Yeovil, Sunday's fixture represents an opportunity to test themselves against an in-form opponent and build on the momentum generated by their victory over Trojans.
The two sides are no strangers to one another, having competed in the same division last season.
It promises to be a demanding afternoon, but one that offers Yeovil the chance to demonstrate their progress and determination.
WOMEN'S BARBARIANS | HOME ADVANTAGE AGAINST UNBEATEN OAKMEADIANS
Yeovil Women's Barbarians v Oakmeadians Ladies
-
Sunday 1 November
-
Kick-off: 2pm
-
Home – Yeovil Rugby Club, Church Lane, BA22 9TR
-
League: Women's NC 3 South West (South)
Back at Church Lane, our Women's Barbarians face their own significant challenge as they welcome Oakmeadians Ladies.
The Barbarians compete in Women's NC 3 South West (South), the sixth tier of the English women's rugby league structure.
The side plays an important role within Yeovil's women's section, providing opportunities for players to gain senior rugby experience, develop their skills and enjoy competitive rugby.
Following a difficult opening league fixture away to Weymouth & Portland, the Barbarians will be determined to put in a stronger performance in front of their home supporters.
While results are important, so too is the development of a squad capable of competing consistently throughout the season.
Every fixture provides another opportunity to gain experience, strengthen combinations and build confidence.
THE OPPOSITION – OAKMEADIANS LADIES
Oakmeadians arrive at Church Lane with three victories from their opening three league fixtures.
Their results so far include:
-
Oakmeadians 10–5 Wimborne Black Jets
-
Oakmeadians 68–14 East Dorset Dockers
-
Oakmeadians 22–10 Swanage & Wareham
With 100 points scored and just 29 conceded, Oakmeadians have made an impressive start to the campaign.
The visitors will undoubtedly arrive full of confidence, but Yeovil's Barbarians have the advantage of playing on familiar ground.
For the Barbs, this is an opportunity to show their determination, work together and take another positive step forward in their league campaign.
And with home support behind them, there is every reason to make Church Lane a difficult place for the visitors.
TWO TEAMS. TWO LEAGUES. ONE YEOVIL.
Having two senior women's teams competing in the RFU league structure is something Yeovil Rugby Club can be proud of.
The Women's 1st XV continue to challenge themselves at Level 4, while the Barbarians provide valuable playing opportunities at Level 6.
Together, they offer a pathway for women of different abilities and experience levels to enjoy competitive rugby, develop their game and represent Yeovil.
There will be victories, difficult afternoons and plenty of lessons along the way, but the commitment to growing women's rugby at Yeovil remains important.
This Sunday provides another opportunity for both squads to represent the club with pride.
GET BEHIND OUR WOMEN THIS SUNDAY!
Whether you're making the journey to Weston-super-Mare to support the 1st XV or heading down to Church Lane to cheer on the Barbarians, your support makes a difference.
We would love to see a strong turnout for our home fixture against Oakmeadians.
Bring the family, bring your friends and get behind the women representing Yeovil.
Both matches kick off at 2pm on Sunday 1 November.
Good luck to both squads, their coaches and everyone pulling on the Yeovil shirt this weekend.
TWO TEAMS. ONE CLUB. TOGETHER WE STAND. 🖤🤍
