Trojans Ladies II 12 – 41 Yeovil Women 1st XV

Yeovil Women's 1st XV returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion on Sunday afternoon, securing an outstanding 41–12 away victory over Trojans Ladies II, collecting all five league points in the process.

Following a challenging couple of fixtures, Yeovil travelled to Hampshire determined to put in a performance that reflected the hard work taking place on the training ground. And the ladies certainly delivered!

Seven tries, a dominant forward display and some excellent attacking rugby from the backs combined to produce one of the squad's most convincing performances of the season so far.

FORWARD POWER SETS THE PLATFORM

From the outset, Yeovil's forwards demonstrated their strength and determination, taking control of the scrum and providing the platform for the team to attack.

The Yeovil pack proved a formidable force, with their dominance at scrum time giving the visitors valuable possession and opportunities to build pressure.

One of the standout moments came from a remarkable 30-metre driving maul, demonstrating the power, organisation and teamwork of the Yeovil forwards.

It was exactly the sort of physical, committed rugby the squad has been working towards, and it laid the foundations for an impressive afternoon.

BACKS BRING THE FINISHING TOUCHES

While the forwards provided the muscle, Yeovil's backs brought plenty of creativity and attacking flair.

Quick hands, intelligent movement and some excellent passing allowed Yeovil to move the ball into space and stretch the Trojans defence.

The visitors played with growing confidence, combining their physical dominance up front with clinical finishing out wide.

The result was a complete team performance, with forwards and backs working together to produce seven tries and an impressive 41-point tally.

SEVEN TRIES SEAL THE BONUS-POINT WIN

Yeovil's attacking efforts were rewarded with seven tries, with six different players crossing the whitewash.

🎯 Tia Shrimpton added a further six points from the boot, completing Yeovil's 41-point haul.

The spread of try scorers highlighted the attacking options available throughout the squad and the team's ability to create opportunities across the pitch.

TROJANS PROVIDE A TOUGH CONTEST

Despite the final scoreline, Trojans Ladies II provided determined opposition throughout the afternoon.

The home side battled hard, producing some excellent rugby of their own and ensuring Yeovil had to work for their victory.

Trojans' 12 points reflected their willingness to compete, and the match was played in a competitive but sporting spirit.

A BIG STEP FORWARD FOR YEOVIL

For Yeovil, this victory represented much more than another result on the league table.

After a difficult run of fixtures, the performance demonstrated the progress being made within the squad and the growing understanding between players.

The dominance at scrum time, powerful driving maul, confident handling and clinical finishing were all signs that the work being put in behind the scenes is beginning to pay off.

Perhaps most importantly, the squad played with confidence, belief and a determination to support one another throughout the match.

Collecting the maximum five league points away from home provides a welcome boost as Yeovil look to build momentum in the coming weeks.

With plenty of rugby still to come, Sunday's performance has given the ladies an excellent platform to build upon.
