Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 October 2026

It's another packed weekend of rugby for Yeovil Rugby Club, with four of our senior squads preparing to take to the field.

Following a fantastic double victory for our senior men last Saturday, both the 1st XV and Barbarians will be looking to continue their winning form.

Our Women's 1st XV will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's disappointment, while our Mixed Ability Men take centre stage at home on Saturday.

Four teams. Two days. Plenty of rugby. Let's get behind the Pigs!

SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER

Blandford v Yeovil Men's 1st XV

Kick-off: 3pm | Away

📍 5 The Pavilions, Larksmead, Blandford Forum

Can the 1st XV Make It Two Wins on the Bounce?

What a difference a week can make!

Last Saturday, Yeovil's 1st XV travelled to Weymouth & Portland and produced an outstanding second-half comeback to secure a commanding 57–21 victory.

Having found themselves behind at half-time, Yeovil returned to the pitch with renewed determination, producing an attacking display that showed exactly what this squad is capable of.

With tries coming from across the team and another impressive performance from the forwards, the influence of the new coaching set-up continues to show.

The win followed an opening victory over North Dorset II and a narrow defeat to Wimborne II, giving Yeovil two wins from their opening three league fixtures.

This weekend presents another opportunity to build on that momentum.

The Opposition – Blandford

Yeovil travel to face Blandford, a side that will be looking to make home advantage count.

Blandford will provide another challenge for Yeovil's developing squad, and the visitors cannot afford to take anything for granted.

After last weekend's performance, confidence will certainly be high, but maintaining that momentum will require another disciplined and committed display.

The challenge for Yeovil is to take the intensity, teamwork and attacking ambition of their second-half performance against Weymouth and deliver it from the opening whistle.

Can the 1st XV make it three league victories from four games?

With the forwards providing a strong platform and the backs beginning to find their attacking rhythm, there is plenty to look forward to.

Get behind the boys as they head to Blandford!

SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER

Yeovil Barbarians v Wincanton

Kick-off: 3pm | Home

📍 Yeovil Rugby Club, Church Lane, BA22 9TR

The Barbs Are Building Something Special!

Two consecutive victories, growing numbers at training and a real sense of excitement surrounding the squad.

The Yeovil Barbarians are beginning to make their mark this season!

Last Saturday saw the Barbs welcome Morganians to Church Lane for a fiercely contested league encounter.

After a dominant victory against Hornets IV the previous weekend, the Barbarians were forced to dig deep against a determined Morganians side.

And they delivered!

Yeovil Barbarians 27–22 Morganians.

It was a brilliant result, with Harry Bartin scoring a superb hat-trick and Alfie Broadhurst crossing twice, while James Fay added the extras.

Harry's performance was particularly encouraging after his recent 1st XV debut, demonstrating the exciting talent coming through the senior section.

Alfie, who regularly travels from Plymouth to represent his home club, once again demonstrated his commitment and ability.

The victory also saw Ridi Agbuke make his Barbarians debut, having recently moved to the area and taken up rugby for the first time.

Another fantastic example of the opportunities available within the club.

The Opposition – Wincanton

This weekend, the Barbarians welcome Wincanton to Church Lane.

Local fixtures always bring an added sense of occasion, and both teams will be eager to claim the bragging rights.

For Yeovil, the challenge will be to continue building on their recent performances.

The Barbs have demonstrated that they can produce dominant attacking rugby and also battle through a much tighter contest when required.

With confidence growing and players competing for places, another positive result would be a fantastic reward for the work being put in at training.

Can the Barbarians make it three consecutive victories?

There's only one way to find out!

Come down to Church Lane and get behind the boys.

🍻 Clubhouse bar open – everyone welcome!

SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER

Yeovil Mixed Ability Men v Dragons Allstars

Kick-off: 2pm | Home

📍 Yeovil Rugby Club, Church Lane, BA22 9TR

Rugby for Everyone – Our Mixed Ability Men Take Centre Stage!

Saturday isn't just about league points and winning streaks.

It's also about celebrating everything that makes rugby such a fantastic sport.

Our Yeovil Mixed Ability Men welcome Dragons Allstars to Church Lane for what promises to be a brilliant afternoon of rugby.

Mixed Ability Rugby is one of the most important parts of our club.

It brings together players of different abilities, backgrounds and rugby experience, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy the game as part of a team.

And the spirit within this squad is something special.

We've already seen that commitment recognised across the wider senior section this season, with Rocky regularly training with the Mixed Ability squad and also representing the Barbarians.

It's a wonderful demonstration of what can happen when players are supported, encouraged and given opportunities.

Welcoming Dragons Allstars

We're delighted to welcome Dragons Allstars to Yeovil for this fixture.

Mixed Ability Rugby is about competition, teamwork, friendship and mutual respect.

It's about giving your best, supporting the players around you and enjoying the experience of representing your club.

There will be plenty of determination on display, but just as importantly, there will be a celebration of the inclusive rugby community that continues to grow.

Whether you're a regular rugby supporter or have never watched Mixed Ability Rugby before, come down and experience it!

A huge thank you to our Mixed Ability sponsors:

Coopers Mill, Stuart Foster Funeral Services and Dots Drawings.

Your support helps make these opportunities possible.

🏉 Kick-off is at 2pm, ahead of the Barbarians' home fixture at 3pm.

Two home games, one afternoon – make a day of it at Yeovil Rugby Club!

SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER

Trojans Ladies II v Yeovil Women's 1st XV

Kick-off: 2pm | Away

📍 Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh, SO50 9HT

Time to Respond – Yeovil Women Hit the Road!

Sunday sees Yeovil Women's 1st XV travel to Eastleigh to face Trojans Ladies II.

Following a difficult home fixture against Penryn last weekend, the squad will be looking to regroup, respond and return to the positive rugby they demonstrated earlier in the season.

Last Sunday's 29–14 defeat against Penryn was a disappointing result, but Yeovil have already shown their ability to compete.

Their opening league victory away at Crediton demonstrated the determination, attacking ability and team spirit within the squad.

Now comes the opportunity to rediscover that form.

The Opposition – Trojans Ladies II

Trojans Ladies II will be looking to make home advantage count, and Yeovil will need to be ready for another competitive afternoon.

Playing away from home brings its own challenges, but it also offers an opportunity for the squad to come together and demonstrate their resilience.

For Yeovil, the focus will be on improving consistency, building attacking phases and making the most of their opportunities.

The team has already shown what it can achieve when everything comes together.

Can the women bounce back and bring another away victory home to Yeovil?

We wish the ladies the very best of luck!

A huge thank you to our women's rugby sponsors:

Chiropractic Care Clinics, Stuart Foster Funeral Services and SCC – Roundswell Taunton Yeovil.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

ONE CLUB. FOUR TEAMS. ONE BIG WEEKEND!

There's something for everyone at Yeovil Rugby Club this weekend.

Whether you're travelling to Blandford to support the 1st XV, cheering on the Mixed Ability Men and Barbarians at Church Lane, or heading to Eastleigh to support the women, your encouragement makes a difference.

Our senior section continues to grow, with new players joining, young talent progressing and an increasingly positive atmosphere around the club.

And there's always room for more!
