Yeovil Rugby Club

Yeovil Rugby Club is delighted to announce The Honesty Jar as the official Player Sponsor of Lauren McClelland for the 2026/27 season, continuing the fantastic support being shown for our women's rugby section by local independent businesses.

Lauren McClelland | Yeovil Women – Front Row

Lauren is part of the Yeovil Women's senior squad, representing the club in the front row, one of the most physically demanding positions on the rugby pitch.

Playing in the front row requires strength, determination, teamwork and a willingness to get stuck into the toughest parts of the game. From the scrums to the breakdowns, front-row players are an essential part of any successful rugby side.

As Yeovil Women continue to develop and build for the future, players like Lauren are an important part of the squad and the club's ambitions for women's rugby.

We are delighted to see Lauren receiving individual sponsorship this season, recognising her commitment to representing Yeovil Rugby Club and helping to support her continued involvement in the game.

Meet Lauren's Sponsor – The Honesty Jar

Lauren's sponsor is an organisation with community spirit at its heart.

The Honesty Jar is an independent, not-for-profit community reuse project based in Henstridge, on the Somerset and Dorset border.

Run by the BearCat Collective and supported by around 40 dedicated volunteers, The Honesty Jar operates a rather special concept: a shop without price tags, where visitors take what they need and contribute what they can afford.

From clothing, books and toys to household essentials and craft materials, the project gives unwanted items a new home while helping local families, reducing waste and supporting people experiencing financial difficulties.

The organisation processes approximately 100 tonnes of donated items each year, keeping valuable resources out of landfill and making everyday essentials more accessible to the community.

But The Honesty Jar is about much more than recycling. It also creates volunteering opportunities, friendships and a welcoming environment where people can feel part of something positive.

It's a wonderful example of what can be achieved when people come together to support their local community.

Two Organisations Sharing Community Values

At Yeovil Rugby Club, we believe rugby is about far more than what happens on the pitch.

It's about friendship, inclusion, teamwork and creating opportunities for people to belong.

These are values reflected in the work carried out by The Honesty Jar, making their support of Lauren and women's rugby particularly meaningful.

Through our Player Sponsorship programme, we hope to continue building connections with organisations that share our commitment to supporting local people.

Thank You, The Honesty Jar!

Everyone at Yeovil Rugby Club would like to extend a huge thank you to The Honesty Jar for sponsoring Lauren McClelland throughout the 2026/27 season.

We are proud to have such a community-focused organisation supporting one of our women's players, and we encourage our members and supporters to discover the fantastic work they do.
