Yeovil Rugby Club’s Senior Men welcomed the Coldstream Guards to Dorchester Road last weekend as part of The Big Game, with a fiercely physical contest producing some excellent individual performances.
While Yeovil were unable to secure the result they wanted, two players stood out and were named Players of the Match – Harry McHugh and captain Oli Cordy.

After a few seasons away from rugby, Harry McHugh made his long-awaited return to the Yeovil side – and certainly made an impact.
Skipping, dancing and causing problems for the Coldstream Guards defence throughout the game, Harry showed exactly what he can bring to the squad. It was a hugely encouraging performance on his return to a Yeovil shirt and one that earned him a thoroughly deserved Player of the Match award.

Sharing the honours was Yeovil captain Oli Cordy, who once again led from the front.
Oli was heavily involved in the contact areas throughout the afternoon, putting himself about, keeping the team organised and providing leadership in the middle of an extremely physical contest.
His work rate, commitment and leadership earned him a well-deserved Player of the Match award.

A Big Day at Dorchester Road
The Coldstream Guards fixture formed part of The Big Game, a special day that brought players, supporters, sponsors and the wider community together at Yeovil Rugby Club.
Although the Senior Men didn’t come away with the win, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance as preparations continue for the season ahead.
