Local Businesses Get Behind Yeovil’s Senior Players
Yeovil Rugby Club’s 2026/27 Player Sponsorship campaign is gathering real momentum, with more local businesses coming forward to support our players ahead of the new season.
When we launched this year’s campaign, the aim was simple: to create stronger links between our players, local businesses and the wider Yeovil community – while helping with the costs associated with playing senior rugby.
The response so far has been fantastic.
In particular, our Senior Men have really got behind the initiative, approaching businesses, employers, family contacts and local companies themselves – and it is working!
We are now seeing a steady stream of new sponsors joining YRC, including businesses that haven't previously been involved with the club.
That is exactly what we wanted to achieve.
More Than Just a Name Against a Player
For £200 + VAT, a business can sponsor a senior player for the 2026/27 season.
In return, sponsors receive:
- Business name, logo and website link on their player's profile on the Yeovil Rugby Club website
- A dedicated social media announcement promoting the player and their sponsor
- Business recognition alongside their player on team sheets when selected
- An invitation for two guests to our Sponsors' Day
- Access to the club's international ticket ballot
- Their sponsored player's annual club membership paid in full
But we want these partnerships to go further than simply putting a company logo on a post.
We are encouraging our sponsored players to get to know the businesses supporting them, visit them where possible, get involved with photographs and promotional content, share their sponsor's posts and help us give something back to the companies investing in them.
It should be a genuine partnership.
New Businesses Joining the YRC Family
One of the most encouraging parts of this year's campaign has been seeing new companies getting involved with Yeovil Rugby Club for the first time.
Every new player sponsorship introduces another business to our club, our members and our supporters – and opens the door to a relationship that can continue to grow.
For a local business, it's an affordable way to get their name in front of the YRC community while directly supporting grassroots sport.
For our players, knowing that a local company, employer, family member or supporter is prepared to put their name behind them is something to be proud of.
And for the club, it builds an ever-growing network of local businesses who want to be part of what we're doing.
The Men Are Leading the Charge
A special mention has to go to our Senior Men's section, who have embraced the campaign brilliantly.
Players aren't simply waiting for the club to find sponsors for them – many are actively going out and finding their own.
We're receiving more introductions, more enquiries and more requests for invoices as players spread the word.
That's exactly the attitude we want to see.
It benefits the player, the sponsor and ultimately Yeovil Rugby Club as a whole.
And we're not finished yet.
