Following a superb 27–20 bonus-point victory away to Crediton Women, two players were recognised for their performances as Yeovil Women’s 1st XV got their league campaign off to a winning start.
🏆 Back of the Match – Sophie
A huge performance from Sophie, who was named Back of the Match after playing an important role in Yeovil’s attacking display.
Operating at scrum-half, Sophie crossed the line twice, contributing two of Yeovil’s five tries and helping keep the side moving in a hard-fought contest.
Her two-try performance was a brilliant way to begin the league season and earned her well-deserved recognition from the team.

🏆 Forward of the Match – Lauren McClelland
In the forwards, Lauren McClelland earned the honours following an excellent performance at loosehead.
With Yeovil dealing with injuries and players having to adapt to unfamiliar positions, the pack had to work incredibly hard throughout the afternoon. Lauren played her part in that determined performance, helping Yeovil battle for the platform they needed to secure the victory.

A Winning Start
Individual awards come from team performances, and this was certainly one of those occasions.
Five tries, a bonus point and an away victory made it a fantastic opening weekend for Yeovil Women, with Sophie and Lauren two deserving recipients of the Players of the Match honours.
